What conditions does a general ophthalmologist treat?

When should I see an eye doctor?
If you experience blurred vision, eye discomfort, or simply need a routine eye check-up. Regular exams are recommended at least once a year.
Do I need a referral?
Not always. Patients may book directly with us, but referrals from another doctor or optometrist are also accepted.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring any previous prescriptions, your medical records, and a list of medications you are currently taking.
Will my pupils be dilated?
It depends on the examination. Some tests, such as fundoscopy and OCT, require dilating drops. If dilation is expected, it helps to arrange transportation.
How long will the consultation take?
Usually 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the tests needed during your visit.
Are diagnostic tests done on the same day?
Yes — most diagnostic tests can be performed during the same visit.
What treatment options are available?
Eyeglasses, medications, minor in-clinic procedures, and referrals for surgery when needed. Your plan depends on your condition and examination results.
How often should I have my eyes checked?
At least once a year, or more frequently as advised by your doctor — especially if you have diabetes, hypertension, or an existing eye condition.
